Last Sunday night I was able to go see The Godfather on the big screen for the first time (I had a chance a few years ago in NYC to see all three Godfathers, and in 35mm at that, but I was already scheduled to see “The Killing of a Chinese Bookie”, on the big screen and also in 35mm, and since that is my favorite Cassavettes film it was a no brainer).  This time it was of course a digital presentation, part of the TMC Big Screen Classics series.

You can see how much of the screen was showing on the sides, only a little annoying.

It was an ok screening, but since it was Regal I guess I shouldn’t have expected the screen to be cropped with drapes on the sides, like an old-school theater would have done.  In any case, still good to see a classic on the big screen.
